Scholastic Inc., a major publisher of children's books, asked us to develop a simple card game. A book written by mega bestselling Angie Sage is Rise Of Dragons. The book includes nine physical cards to unlock the game we developed.

The object of the game is to use dealt cards strategically to defeat an AI opponent. Winning is determined by the card the players play against. If a player reaches fifty points, they win. The objective of the game is to try to outwit the other player and determine which cards they have based on cards in your hand and those on the table.

The game is made for young kids and for fans of Angie Sage's books with the goal of introducing new audiences to her new books.

We provided the following services:

  • Game design and development
  • Level design
  • Custom HTML5 game development
  • UI/UX development
  • Music and sound design

In this game, you take calculated risks to win higher value cards to earn points. first to fifty wins.

Scholastic, a major publisher of children's books, commissioned us to make a simple web game. It resulted in a continuing relationship and the development of 19 other games.

The game was developed using our own custom HTML5 game engine with PIXI (an open source rendering engine). You can play the game on any modern web browser, across any platform. Using our discovery, planning, and execution processes, we designed and developed the game in two weeks.

With Mode in Australia and Scholastic in the U.S., we exceeded our clients' expectations and managed our relationship exceptionally well. With Scholastic, other games and brands were developed as a result of this project.
